Trekking in Cordillera Blanca

Trekking in Cordillera Huayhuash

We are on our way to discover the richness of landscapes and Andean customs of the Cordillera Blanca peoples. It is considered the most important mountain range in Peru and birthplace of ancient indigenous civilizations. Its inhabitants have enriched their cultures through a constant process of contact with diverse and complex ecosystems existing in the Cordillera, overcoming great obstacles and reaching a surprising level of development in spite of the scarcity of resources available. These peoples have domesticated plants and animals since ancient times. They are mystical, religious individuals who worship Mother Earth, mountains, rivers and lakes as part of their traditions. As inhabitants of a mountainous region of impressive and wild beauty; they are eager to take part in experiences oriented towards exchange and collaboration for the preservation of nature and tourism development at the Huascaran National Park. Join MOUNTCLIMB TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE and help create an increasing level of awareness among peoples of cultures from the most remote corners of the earth, thereby encouraging the preservation of the Cordillera Blanca ecosystem for future generations.

The journey from the Ishinca Valley to the Akilpo Valley can be considered as one of the lesser-known treks in Cordillera Blanca. It is a circuit for those who want to enjoy the peace and tranquility nature provides us. Its impressive mountain scenes and wild, unexplored landscapes, reward our daily efforts with sights that fill us with satisfaction and joy. This circuit is located in the central area of Cordillera Blanca. Its valleys have been attracting visitors since the 1940s, but it was not until the 1990s that daring travelers undertook this seldom-visited trek. It is one of the most exciting due to its wild trails and deep quenual forests which lead us through mountainous areas creating a series of visual experiences that reach their apex in an unforgettable moment upon reaching the pass which separates both valleys. We enjoy a magical view of the majestic Cordillera Blanca. We find ourselves surrounded by snowy sentinels, guarding these warm valleys. Anyone who is enthusiastic enough can do this trek and enjoy pleasant experiences. If you are willing to devote a little of your time and effort, you are invited to take part in one of the less-traveled treks in this mountain range.
